Jeffrey Hughes serves as Professor of Art History and Criticism and Director of the Cecille R. Hunt Gallery at Webster University in St. Louis, affiliated with the Leigh Gerdine College of Fine Arts and Department of Art, Design, and Art History. He teaches courses on modern art, German Expressionism, contemporary art, and art theory and criticism.
His educational background includes:

- B.A. in Art History from Indiana State University
- M.A. and Ph.D. in Art History from the University of Iowa
Hughes specializes in socially engaged art practices intersecting with critical theory, modern/contemporary movements, and German Expressionism.
