Jeffrey E. Pessin

Jeffrey E. Pessin is a Professor in the Department of Medicine (Endocrinology) and the Department of Molecular Pharmacology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He holds the Judy R. and Alfred A. Rosenberg Professorial Chair in Diabetes Research and directs the Diabetes Research Center. His research focuses on insulin signaling, metabolic regulation, and the pathophysiology of diabetes and obesity. Key areas include adipose tissue inflammation, liver metabolism, and cardiometabolic health. He employs genetically engineered mice, RNA-seq, and single-cell technologies to study metabolic signaling and disease mechanisms.
