معرفی
Jeffrey Dvorin is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and holds the role of Senior Associate Physician in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Boston Children's Hospital. His research focuses on molecular pathogenesis of the malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum, particularly cell division, egress mechanisms, and drug discovery. He combines genetic, cell biological, and CRISPR-based techniques to explore fundamental biological processes critical for parasite survival and replication.
Education:
- MD/PhD from University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine (2004)
- Pediatrics Residency at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (2006)
- Fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Boston Children’s Hospital (2010)
Research Interests:
- Mechanisms of parasite egress from human erythrocytes
- Calcium-dependent signaling in malaria lifecycle
- CRISPR-based functional genomics and drug target identification
- Structural biology of apicomplexan parasites using expansion microscopy
- Development of ultrasensitive diagnostic tools for malaria
Advising & Grants: While no explicit student advisees are listed, his lab focuses on collaborative projects involving genetic profiling and microscopy. Specific grant details are not provided in the texts.
Labs/Teams: The Dvorin Lab at Harvard Medical School investigates malaria parasite biology with a focus on identifying novel therapeutic targets and advancing microscopy techniques for pathogen study.
