Jeffrey D. Varner

Jeffrey D. Varner is a Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Cornell University's College of Engineering. His research focuses on developing physiochemical modeling tools to rationally reprogram signal flow in human signal transduction networks.

Research Focus: Creation of physiochemical models as hypothesis-generation engines for targeted reprogramming strategies in human signal transduction architectures. Applications in cancer research and therapeutic development.

Educational Background: B.S. in Chemistry and Mathematics from Purdue University (1992), M.Sc. (1995) and Ph.D. (1997) in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University. Postdoctoral researcher at ETH-Zurich Department of Biology.

Industry Experience: Former Scientist at Genencor International's Oncology unit, involved in discovery of novel cancer targets and preclinical/clinical studies of protein therapeutics.
