Jeffery L. Wilson

Jeffery L. Wilson is Associate Dean of the VCU Graduate School and Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership at Virginia Commonwealth University. He serves as principal investigator for VCU's Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Scholars Program, supporting underrepresented students in graduate education.

His research examines diversity, equity, and leadership in higher education contexts, with particular focus on presidential leadership diversity, transfer pathways for community college students, and anti-racism initiatives in urban institutions.

Recent publications analyze diversity challenges in executive leadership searches and institutional approaches to DEI professional development. Comparative work examines diversity initiatives at elite international institutions including the University of Oxford.

He received the 2022 Neuner Award for Excellence in Scholarly-Professional Publication and the 2019 VCU School of Education Distinguished Service Award. He was designated Visiting Fellow of the University of Oxford’s Harris Manchester College.
