Jeff Milroy is an Associate Professor in the Department of Public Health Education and Director of Graduate Studies at the University of North Carolina Greensboro (UNCG). He also serves as Associate Director of the Institute to Promote Athlete Health & Wellness (IPAHW). His research focuses on behavioral interventions targeting adolescent health, including sport-related concussion reporting, alcohol/drug prevention, and coach communication. He has led federally funded projects such as a NCAA/DoD study on concussion reporting and an NIAAA-funded study on alcohol and sexual behaviors.

Research Interests: Dr. Milroy’s work employs an ecological perspective to address health disparities, emphasizing the intersection of individual, relational, and structural factors. Key areas include:

- Alcohol and substance use prevention
- Coach training programs (e.g., Coaches Assist for Empathic Listening)
- Health promotion for college students with intellectual/developmental disabilities

Advising & Grants: As a PI/Co-I on multiple grants, he mentors Public Health Education students through extramural research. His lab collaborates with NCAA, Special Olympics, and the US Anti-Doping Agency.
Labs/Teams: IPAHW serves as a hub for developing web-based interventions and evaluating programs like the InSideOut Initiative.
