Jeff Mello

Jeff Mello is a Special Assistant Professor of Management and Entrepreneurship at the Frank G. Zarb School of Business, Hofstra University. He has held prior academic and administrative leadership roles, including dean positions at Rhode Island College, Siena College, and Barry University, and faculty appointments at George Washington University, UC Berkeley, Towson University, and Golden Gate University.

His educational background includes a Ph.D. and MBA in Law and Public Policy from Northeastern University and a B.S.B.A. summa cum laude from Boston University. He is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and has over 40 years of experience as a licensed real estate agent.

Dr. Mello's research focuses on strategic human resource management, organizational behavior, employment and labor law, ethics, and innovative pedagogy in management education. His work emphasizes inclusive leadership, ethical decision-making, and public policy implications in business. He has published extensively in top-tier journals such as the Journal of Business Ethics, Business Horizons, and Journal of Management Education.

His recent publications reflect a strong trend in interdisciplinary scholarship, bridging law, ethics, management, and public policy. Themes include AI in HR, gig economy labor rights, experiential learning, and inclusive leadership. His research is both academically rigorous and practically oriented, often addressing real-world organizational challenges.

He has not publicly listed his advisees, but his leadership in academic administration and editorial roles suggests significant mentorship and grant-related influence.

He is actively involved in professional organizations including the Academy of Management, Academy of Legal Studies in Business, and Society for Human Resource Management.
