Jeff Langholz is a Professor in the Department of Environmental Policy and Management at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, where he has taught since 1999. His work bridges policy, business, and leadership to maximize environmental impact, drawing from his extensive professional experience with organizations like the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and consultancies across five continents. A Fulbright Scholar and former Green Business Feasibility Assessment consultant, he focuses on sustainability, biodiversity, and triple-bottom-line entrepreneurship.
Research Interests: Langholz’s research centers on designing effective environmental policies, integrating conservation science with policymaking, and promoting green business practices. He explores topics such as biodiversity governance, food safety-ecosystem trade-offs, and stakeholder collaboration in conservation projects, often applying frameworks like the Miradi software for project design and evaluation.

Education: Langholz holds a PhD in Natural Resource Policy & Management from Cornell University, an MS in Conservation Biology & Sustainable Development from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a BA in History from Dana College.
