Jeff Harper

Jeff Harper is a Part-Time Instructor at the School of Journalism, Dalhousie University. He currently works full-time as a photojournalist for Metro Halifax. With over 10 years in the news industry, Harper has held roles at the Halifax Daily News, Chronicle Herald, and freelanced for major outlets such as The Globe and Mail and Reuters. He transitioned from wedding photography into photojournalism and now explores video production, including work for PEI tourism campaigns and the TV show Intervention Canada.

• Education: Bachelor of Journalism (Honours)

His teaching focuses on visual storytelling and photojournalism, including courses like Advanced Photojournalism (JOUR 3664.03), Introduction to Visual Storytelling (JOUR 2702.03), and Photojournalism modules in the Minor in Journalism Studies. Courses are delivered in hybrid formats with sessions in the Archibald Room and Arts & Administration Building labs.
