Jeff Farber is Professor Emeritus and former Director of the Canadian Research Institute for Food Safety at University of Guelph. With academic training in microbiology from McGill University, his research addresses foodborne pathogens like Listeria and Cronobacter through risk assessment and control methodologies.
Research spans microbial safety of low-moisture foods, pathogen emergence mechanisms, and disease modeling. Current projects examine viral survival in dried foods and novel pasteurization techniques using NSF and ILSI funding.
