Jee Eun Franziska Lee is Professor of Piano at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts, appointed in 2023. Born in Seoul, South Korea in 1988, she is a Steinway Artist renowned for her exceptional piano performances and recordings.
Lee specializes in 20th century repertoire, particularly focusing on French and English composers. Her research interests span Piano Performance, Classical Music Interpretation, 20th Century French Composers, and Schubert's Piano Works. She has developed particular expertise in the piano sonatas of Franz Schubert, with Marcello Abbado noting her ability to 'make the piano sing with absolute nobility.'
Her recordings have established significant scholarly contributions to the field of piano performance. L'HEURE EXQUISE explores French composers of the 20th century, while LONDON NIGHTS investigates English composers from the same period.
