Jeanne Coonan serves as an Adjunct Professor of Music Education at Roberts Wesleyan College and Nazareth College, teaching Woodwind Methods courses (MUS 235/236). With over 35 years of public school instrumental music experience in upstate New York, she has directed elementary through high school bands and provided string lessons and general music instruction.

Specializing in K-12 instrumental music education, Coonan focuses on woodwind pedagogy, wind ensemble development, and innovative band direction techniques. Coonan actively contributes to music education through performance with the Roberts Wesleyan College-Community Orchestra and Penfield Symphony. Her leadership extends to co-founding the Hochstein Junior Wind Symphony and Hochstein Youth Wind Symphony, providing advanced performance opportunities for young musicians. Additionally, she holds a Certificate in Labor Studies from Cornell University and has served in elected roles for the Webster Teachers' Association and New York State United Teachers, while maintaining national involvement as a drum corps and marching band adjudicator.
