Dr. Jeanet Ingwersen is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at Teesside University, part of the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Law. She serves as Programme Leader for the MSc Psychology and MSc Applied Psychology programs and has been teaching at the university since 2008. Her academic work spans teaching, research supervision, and leadership in psychological science.
Her research interests focus on child wellbeing, particularly the influence of nutrition—specifically breakfast and glycaemic index—on cognitive performance and behavior. She also explores the impact of access to green and blue spaces on mental health in children and adults, and is actively involved in research concerning interventions and support for autistic adults. Her work extends into the psychosocial effects of cancer in individuals with autism, highlighting her interdisciplinary approach to health and wellbeing.
The recent publications reflect a strong trend in nutritional psychology, developmental cognitive science, and mental health interventions.
