Kim Jonkman, MSc is an Education/Research Officer at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam within the Faculty of Behavioural and Movement Sciences, Department of Clinical- Neuro- and Developmental Psychology. She serves as coordinator for the Netherlands Autism Register (NAR), a large longitudinal cohort study of autistic individuals.
Her research focuses on understanding support services used by autistic individuals, including treatments, medications, guidance, and counseling. Dr. Jonkman completed her PhD in September 2025 on autism support services with her thesis "Rethinking Autism Support: What is used, what helps, and what matters?"
Her publication portfolio reveals deep engagement with autism research methodology and service evaluation:
- Employing mixed methods to examine ABA-derived therapies from multiple stakeholder perspectives
- Investigating mental health care utilization patterns among autistic adults through sequence analysis
