She actively supervises undergraduate and MSc Health Psychology students in their research endeavors.
Dr. Gurbuz has established herself as a notable researcher in autism studies, with multiple publications spanning from 2015 to 2025. Her work demonstrates a clear progression from fundamental cognitive research to applied studies focused on autism in educational settings and social contexts, with an increasing emphasis on practical applications and interventions that support autistic individuals in higher education and social environments.
She is affiliated with the Centre for Integrated Health and Wellbeing and the Centre for Interaction, Development and Diversity at the University of Portsmouth, reflecting her commitment to interdisciplinary research that addresses complex health and social challenges.
