Jean Yannis Perentes

Jean Yannis Perentes is a Full Professor at the University of Lausanne (UNIL) and a Senior Physician in the Thoracic Surgery Department at CHUV. He directs the Thoracic Surgery Tumor Biology Laboratory, focusing on immune system remodeling for thoracic cancer treatment.

His research spans thoracic oncology, immunotherapy, and minimally invasive surgical techniques. He has spearheaded clinical trials like PITHAC (phase I) and ILIAS (perioperative immunotherapy for lung cancer), linking laboratory discoveries to clinical applications.

Perentes holds dual FMH certifications in General Surgery and Thoracic Surgery and has active roles in Swiss and European thoracic oncology networks, including SAKK, SAMO, and ETOP. He co-founded a biennial national course on Simulation of Lobectomy by Minimally Invasive Approach.
