Jean-Michel DesJacques

Jean-Michel DesJacques is a Teaching Professor in the Department of French at the University of Stirling, where he has been working since 2006. He serves dual roles as both Study Abroad Coordinator and Language Coordinator, working with international partners across France, Canada, Switzerland, and Morocco.

Mr. DesJacques specializes in French language pedagogy with expertise spanning from beginner to advanced levels, including instruction for students pursuing the MRes in Translation Studies. His professional background combines history and Francophone Literature with International Cultural Relations, creating a rich interdisciplinary approach to language education. The University emphasizes e-learning and blended learning approaches, with DesJacques actively involved in creating most of the online materials used to support students and teaching.

As Study Abroad Coordinator, he manages relationships with the British Council to provide candidates for language assistanship posts in France. In his Language Coordinator role, he oversees the delivery and development of language provision, manages a teaching team, and takes responsibility for oral/aural tuition across all academic years. His work bridges academic instruction with practical language applications through international educational partnerships.
