Jean-Marc Mouillie

Jean-Marc Mouillie is a Senior Lecturer HDR in Philosophy at the University of Angers, Faculty of Health, teaching human and social sciences as part of the Philo-FR research team.

His academic trajectory began with admission as a free candidate to the École Normale Supérieure (Fontenay St Cloud), followed by service as a monitor grantee at the University of Lille-3 and a teaching/research assistant at ENS.

Research spans interconnected philosophical domains:

• Existentialism (Sartre-focused)
• French phenomenology
• Normative ethics and philosophy of norms
• Medical ethics, bioethics, and care ethics
• Philosophy of medicine
• Political philosophy (totalitarianism studies)

He co-founded the University of Angers' College of Medical Humanities, serving as both vice-president and president, and directs collections while sitting on the Board of Directors for publisher Les Belles Lettres.
