Jean-Luc Martinez is a researcher at the French Institute of Education (IFE) as part of the EducTice team, with a part-time secondment since 2016. He holds a DEA in Applied Mathematics from University of Lyon 1 (1993) and has been a school teacher since 2000. His primary affiliation is with the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon.
Research focuses on integrating Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) into mathematics education, particularly pre-algebraic thinking in cycle 3 (ages 7-10). Current projects include OCINAEE (digital/tangible math games), CaPriCo (calculator use in schools), and PREMaTT (pre-algebra resource design).
Recent publications explore cultural diversity in digital education and geomedia-based learning. His work bridges pedagogical theory with practical classroom tools, emphasizing technology's role in foundational math concepts.
