Dr. Jean Ketterling is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Studies – Women’s and Gender Studies Program at the University of Saskatchewan. Her research focuses on representations of sex in video games, queer and feminist media studies, and socio-legal constructions of sexuality. She holds a PhD in Legal Studies from Carleton University, where she was a Vanier Scholar, and has published in journals like Surveillance & Society and Feminist Media Studies.
Key research interests include the regulation of pornographic video games, emotional embodiment in digital spaces, and gendered legal frameworks in sports. She has received grants such as the J.E.A. Crake Humanities Projects Grant for workshops integrating feminist/queer theory with craft practices. Currently, she serves as Communications Officer for the Sexuality Studies Association and Vice President of the Canadian Game Studies Association.
