Jayne Powles is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Manager for Animal Sciences at Harper Adams University. She oversees multiple undergraduate and master's programs, including BSc (Hons) Animal Behaviour and Welfare, Animal Health and Welfare, Bioveterinary Science, Veterinary Bioscience, and Animal Production Science, as well as the MSci Bioveterinary Science. Her teaching roles include academic skills development tutoring and course tutoring for years 2, 3, and FdSc students across these programs.
She holds a BSc, PhD, MA in Teaching and Learning, and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). Her research interests focus on microbiology related to food safety, animal health, and anaerobic digestion; non-ruminant nutritional studies; and the application of digital technology for feedback and assessment in education.
Professional memberships include the British Society of Animal Science and the Society for Applied Microbiology. Her work bridges academic leadership, teaching innovation, and applied research in animal sciences and veterinary biosciences.
