Jayne Dennis

Dr. Jayne Dennis is a Reader in Biomedical Education and Director of Scholarship at Queen Mary University of London's School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences. She holds a PhD from the University of Glasgow and an MA in the psychology of education from University College London. Her roles include Director of Teaching and Learning for Biomedical Sciences, overseeing the transition to online learning during the pandemic, and Programme Director for Biomedical Sciences. She teaches modules like Human Genetic Disorders and Advanced Human Genetic Disorders, and mentors students in genetics, cancer, and personalized medicine.

Her research focuses on metacognition in higher education and molecular genetics in cancer management. She has presented at conferences such as the Society for Research in Higher Education and Advance HE STEM. Awards include Advance HE Senior Fellow (2017) and Queen Mary Academy Fellow. She also contributes to editorial reviews for journals like Medical Teacher.
