Jay Pitcock

Jay Pitcock is a Clinical Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy, affiliated with the Department of Pharmacy Practice. He has been with the institution since June 2001 and currently focuses on cardiology, particularly heart failure management at the UMMC Heart Failure Disease Management Clinic. His clinical practice includes diabetes, dyslipidemia, asthma, anticoagulation, and MTM/DSM in community settings.

Education: PharmD from The University of Mississippi (1997), B.S. in Pharmacy (2001). Completed a Pharmacy Practice residency at the Central Arkansas Veterans' Healthcare System (2000).

Research interests emphasize cardiovascular disease, medication access, and patient assistance programs. He is a member of Rho Chi and Phi Lambda Sigma honor societies. Recognitions include the ASHP Best Practices Award and induction into UMMC's Nelson Order and Academy for Excellence in Education.
