Jay Pandya

Jay Pandya is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, with expertise in Disaster Medicine and Global Health. His work focuses on clinical emergency care, disaster preparedness, and health system strengthening in domestic and global limited-resource settings.

Education:

• MPH with concentration in Health Systems Sciences from the O'Donnell School of Public Health
• Fellowship in Disaster Medicine and Global Health

Research Interests: Dr. Pandya specializes in hospital-based emergency operations, interdisciplinary team leadership, and program development across preparedness, training, and policy. His work emphasizes capacity-building in Nepal, India, Rwanda, and Lebanon, with international presentations on disaster communication, de-escalation, and radiation response. He actively improves operational readiness through multidisciplinary training, emergency planning, and public health integration.

Leadership: At UT Southwestern, he leads initiatives integrating emergency operations with public health frameworks to enhance system-wide disaster response capabilities in resource-constrained environments.
