He concurrently holds the position of emergency preparedness coordinator for the Academic Health Center at IU Health Riley Hospital.

As emergency preparedness coordinator, Lucas implemented comprehensive monthly training programs covering diverse disaster scenarios for over 15,000 employees across Academic Health Center campuses. His approach integrates relationship-building with government entities and community organizations to strengthen regional response capabilities.
