Dr. Jay Heon Jung is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting at Bayes Business School, City St George's, University of London. He serves as Course Director for the MSc International Accounting and Finance programme and Director of Academic Research at the Centre for Financial Analysis and Reporting Research (CeFARR). He is also a Representative Member of the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI) and a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy.
His research focuses on financial analysts, capital markets, and behavioral biases in corporate finance. Notably, his work on surname favorability and its impact on CEO compensation and market reactions to analyst forecasts has been published in top journals such as the Journal of Accounting and Economics and Journal of Corporate Finance, and featured in global media outlets including Bloomberg, Le Monde, and NBC News Radio.
Dr. Jung's recent publications reveal consistent themes in behavioral accounting and market inefficiencies. His studies explore how non-meritocratic factors—such as a CEO’s surname or an analyst’s name origin—affect compensation and investor behavior, challenging assumptions of rational decision-making in capital markets.
