Dr. Jay Beavers is an Associate Professor of English at Union University. He holds a B.A. from Grove City College, an M.A. from the University of Richmond, and a Ph.D. in Religion and Literature from Baylor University. His teaching focuses on literature, film, the short story, drama, and American literature. His current research project, Outlaw Religion, explores prophetic themes in Cormac McCarthy’s novels. His scholarly interests include postmodern novels, southern American literature, film studies, and literature and theology. His work has been published in journals like South Atlantic Review and Intégrité. He can be contacted at jbeavers@uu.edu.
