Javier Ortiz is an Adjunct Professor with expertise in Water Law and a background in family law practice. He is affiliated with Beacon Attorneys, PLLC, where he serves as a partner specializing in complex divorces, parenting plans, adoptions, and civil matters. His advocacy work includes commitments to Latino/a, LGBT, and people of color communities, alongside roles in the King County Diversity Committee and King County Family Law Section.

- J.D. from Seattle University School of Law (2016)
His research and professional interests emphasize civil rights, social justice, and legal advocacy. He previously clerked for Snohomish County Superior Court and led initiatives with Amnesty International, including organizing protests against ICE actions and a 'Write for Rights' campaign. Fluent in Spanish, he actively mentors Seattle University law students and newly licensed attorneys.
Outside of work, Javier engages in creative writing, music discovery via Spotify, and experimental baking.
