Javier Moreno Zacares

Dr. Javier Moreno Zacares is an Assistant Professor in the School of Government and International Affairs at Durham University. His work focuses on the political economy of housing provision and the historical evolution of capitalism. Previously, he held a Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship at the University of Warwick, where he earned his PhD.

• Research Interests: Capitalist Development, Housing and Real Estate, Financialisation, Land Rent, Agrarian Change, Transitions to Capitalism, Politics and History of Spain, Historical Materialism.

His recent publications analyze themes such as residential accumulation frameworks, land abstraction in housing markets, and historical materialist approaches to capitalist evolution. He has contributed to journals like Antipode, Historical Materialism, and Journal of Agrarian Change.
