Javier García González

Javier García González is a Full Professor of Criminal Law at CEU Cardenal Herrera University (UCH CEU), where he has served since 1994. He currently holds a Chair in Criminal Law and serves as the General Secretariat of the UCH. He earned his PhD in Law from the University of Valencia in 1999, completing his thesis on the criminal limits of biotechnological advances, which won the Royal Academy of Doctors' award for best doctoral thesis in Social and Legal Sciences.

His research spans two primary areas: the criminal regulation of medical advancements in genetics and the legal response to cybercrime and internet-related offenses. Notable studies include works on cyberbullying, gender-based violence via digital platforms, and privacy infringements. He has conducted research stays at institutions such as the University of Glasgow, University of Florence, and the University of Bologna, among others.

He has led projects like the Valencia-funded 'Gaps in Protection and International Assistance to Girls Associated with Armed Groups' (2022–2024) and the Madrid-funded 'Judicial Cooperation in Environmental Matters' (2024–2026). His recognitions include positive evaluations from the National Commission for Research Activity (CNEAI), ANECA accreditation for Full Professorship, and multiple grant-funded research initiatives.
