Javier F. Oliva

Javier F. Oliva is a Senior Lecturer in Political Science and Legal Studies at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), specializing in American Law, Courts and Politics, Legal Research and Writing, and law school preparation. He is affiliated with the College of Liberal and Fine Arts and contributes to UTSA’s Institute for Law and Public Affairs through its Summer Law Preparation Academy.

His research interests focus on Law and Society, American Legal Process, Judicial Politics, and Legal & Philosophical Reasoning. Mr. Oliva also consults in Business Law, Criminal Law, Family Law, School Law, and Wills and Probate, leveraging his experience as a licensed attorney since 1991.

As an active community member, he previously served two terms on the Castle Hills City Council and currently sits on the School Council for Antonian College Preparatory High School and the Board of Trustees of Catholic Charities of San Antonio.
