Gregory Zlotnick serves as a Visiting Assistant Clinical Professor of Law, Englehardt Research Fellow, and Supervising Attorney for the Housing Rights Project at St. Mary’s University School of Law. He oversees eviction defense efforts through the St. Mary’s Housing Hotline and teaches in the Consumer Protection Clinic and public interest lawyering courses. Previously, he directed the Pro Bono Programs (2014–2022), implementing community service graduation requirements for JD students and connecting law students with San Antonio legal needs. He received the 2020 Pro Bono Coordinator Award from the State Bar of Texas.
His research focuses on housing stability, eviction prevention, and access to legal services. He has published on topics like fee waiver reforms for Texas documents and clemency advocacy. Beyond academia, he volunteers with the ABA’s Death Penalty Representation Project and serves on boards for the Andy Mireles Charitable Foundation and San Antonio Legal Services Association.
Gregory holds a J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center (2011) and a B.A., magna cum laude, from Georgetown University (2008). His career includes private practice in San Antonio, HUD trial attorney roles, and law clerk experiences. His work emphasizes bridging legal education with community service, particularly in marginalized communities.
