Dr. Javier Duarte is an Associate Professor of Physics at UC San Diego and member of the CMS experiment at CERN. He leads research on Higgs boson physics and machine learning applications for particle physics. His group develops AI techniques for analyzing high-energy particle collisions and searches for new physics beyond the Standard Model.
Research focuses on:
- LHC data analysis for Higgs and exotic physics
- Hardware-accelerated machine learning
- Geometric deep learning architectures
Honors include the APS Primakoff Award and Sloan Fellowship. His work is supported by DOE, NSF, Sloan Foundation, and Research Corporation.
