David Vannerom is a Postdoctoral Associate at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Department of Applied Physics and Photonics), with prior experience as a Postdoctoral Associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2019–2021). His research focuses on experimental particle physics, including studies of Higgs boson interactions, top quark physics, and searches for new physics phenomena using the CMS detector at the CERN LHC. He leads projects such as the Search for Fractionally Charged Particles (FWOAL1131 grant) and contributes to the Search for low charge particles (FWOTM1052 grant).
Key research interests include collisions, proton dynamics, Higgs boson properties, and the exploration of dark matter candidates like millicharged particles. His work involves analyzing LHC Run-3 data to study exotic decays and anomalous couplings. Notable awards include the FWO Junior Postdoctoral Fellowship (2021), BAEF Fellowship (2019), and recognition for his poster on CMS detector development (2017).
