معرفی
Jaume Navarro is a researcher at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science (MPIWG) in Berlin, focusing on the historical epistemology and reception of quantum mechanics in the United Kingdom during the early 20th century. His work examines how the academic milieu at the University of Cambridge influenced key figures like Charles Galton Darwin, George Paget Thomson, and Ralph Howard Fowler in understanding and developing quantum mechanics, particularly in light of experiments such as G.P. Thomson’s 1927 electron diffraction studies.
- Current project: "Research and Pedagogy. A History of Quantum Physics and its Early Textbooks"
- Past event: Seminar on "Historical Epistemology of the Final Theory" (May 20, 2019)
Navarro’s research intersects the history of science, physics, and pedagogical practices, with a focus on transnational scientific developments and material culture. He actively engages in research communication and collaborates with international academic networks through the MPIWG’s programs.
The Digital Humanities Team at MPIWG supports his work, enabling interdisciplinary analysis of scientific texts and practices. Navarro’s scholarship contributes to understanding the global and institutional dynamics that shape scientific knowledge, particularly in the context of quantum theory’s early years.
