معرفی
Jaume Alonso is a Postdoctoral Researcher in Mathematics at the Institute of Mathematics, Technical University of Berlin, Germany. He works under Prof. Yuri Suris in the Geometry and Mathematical Physics group and contributes to the SFB Discretisation in Geometry and Dynamics (Transregio 109) program by the German Research Foundation (DFG). His research focuses on dynamical systems and integrability, particularly birational dynamics from Kahan discretisation of integrable systems, blending dynamical systems theory, algebraic geometry, and computational experiments using Mathematica.
He previously obtained his Ph.D. in Mathematics (2019) from the University of Antwerp, Belgium, under Prof. Sonja Hohloch, studying symplectic classification of semitoric systems with Holger Dullin (University of Sydney). At TU Berlin and Antwerp, he has taught exercise sessions for bachelor's and master's courses in mathematics and physics, including Mathematical Physics III (M.Sc.) and Mathematics for Physicists II (B.Sc.).
- Education:
- Ph.D. in Mathematics, University of Antwerp (2019)
- M.Sc. in Physics, Uppsala University (2015)
- Double B.Sc. in Mathematics & Physics, Autonomous University of Barcelona (2012)
- Erasmus Exchange Year, Georg-August-Universität Göttingen (2010-2011)
His research spans discretisation of integrable systems, symplectic invariants of singular Lagrangian fibrations, geometric aspects of dynamical systems, and bifurcation of ordinary differential equations. He also explores data-driven modelling, time-series analysis, and machine learning applications in physics, chemistry, and social sciences.
Professionally, he holds certificates in China competence (2025), leadership & project management (2018), and deep learning (Coursera, 2020). He is fluent in English, Dutch, and German, with advanced skills in LaTeX/Beamer and Linux systems, and basic proficiency in Python, C, CUDA, R, and TensorFlow/Keras.
