Jasper Tjaden

Prof. Jasper Tjaden holds the Chair for Applied Social Research and Public Policy at the University of Potsdam’s Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, serving as Deputy Dean of Studies since 2021. His research focuses on migration policy evaluation, discrimination, and the intersection of social media with migration and elections. He previously worked at the IOM’s Global Migration Data Analysis Centre and the World Bank.

Education includes a PhD in Economic and Social Sciences (2016, University of Bamberg), a Fulbright scholarship at CUNY, and an MSc in European Studies from the LSE (2011).

Key projects include the Potsdam Social Media Monitor (tracking political content on platforms like TikTok) and evaluations of refugee integration policies. He collaborates with institutions like the IOM on irregular migration studies and public awareness campaigns.
