Dr. Jasper J. Verlinden is a Postdoctoral Lecturer and Researcher in the Department of English and American Studies at Humboldt University of Berlin's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. His academic work spans Postcolonial Studies, American Literature, and Gender Studies with specialized focus on Trans and Queer Studies, Settler Colonial Studies, and the cultural implications of bureaucracy.
Dr. Verlinden's research interests explore the intersections of bureaucratic governance, racial formation, and multi-ethnic American literature. His doctoral work examined how documentation practices affect marginalized communities, particularly in immigration contexts. His teaching portfolio includes courses on Contemporary Trans and Queer Poetry, Settler Colonial Imaginary, and U.S. Immigration Law and Culture.
