Dr. Jason Zhenjiang Zhang is a Research Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Vanderbilt University's School of Engineering. His research focuses on nanomedicine, drug delivery systems, and molecular engineering of cell surfaces for targeted protein degradation. He obtained his Ph.D. in Chemical Biology from Peking University and B.S. in Chemistry from Shandong University.
His work in the King Lab emphasizes developing innovative nanotechnology-based therapies for cancer treatment, including projects funded by CPRIT. Notable achievements include a 2024 CPRIT Award, and contributions to peer-reviewed journals such as Cell Death & Disease, Science Advances, and BMC Biology.
Dr. Zhang mentors students like Abby Fabiano (PhD candidate), Thong Cao (PhD graduate), and others in interdisciplinary research. His lab's activities span biomaterials design, targeted drug delivery mechanisms, and translational oncology studies. The lab collaborates widely and actively seeks funding to advance cancer research.
