Jason Weismueller is a Lecturer in the Department of Marketing at the UWA Business School, The University of Western Australia. His research focuses on the negative consequences of social media, including misinformation spread, political polarization, and the effectiveness of influencer marketing in enhancing brand engagement. He holds a Master of Science in Marketing from Brunel University London (2017–2018) and is completing his PhD in Marketing at UWA (2019–present).
His research expertise spans Marketing, Social Media, Information Systems, and Consumer Behavior. Key themes include understanding how social media platforms amplify misinformation, the psychological drivers of political content sharing, and leveraging influencer marketing strategies for consumer engagement.
