Dr Jason Slade is a Lecturer in Planning at the School of Geography and Planning, University of Sheffield. His work bridges planning theory, commercialisation in public-sector planning, and community-led initiatives through narrative strategies and participatory methods.
- Education: BA in English Literature (University of Sheffield, 2006-09), MA in Town and Regional Planning (University of Sheffield, 2011-12), PhD in Planning (University of Sheffield, 2013-17).
His research focuses on participatory democracy, social justice, and planning education, with a particular emphasis on storytelling as a tool for inclusion. Recent publications explore commercialisation’s impact on planning ethics, community-led regeneration, and planning as a 'technology of hope.'
