Jason Jordan is the Head of School at the CEES School of The Environment. He holds a PhD in Holocene Relative Sea Level Change from Coventry University (2004) and a BSc in Geography (1997). His research focuses on sedimentology, coastal change, climate change, tsunami hazards, and Quaternary environments. He has conducted fieldwork with archaeologists in Scotland to elucidate environmental changes from the Mesolithic to the Middle Ages.
Education:
- PhD, Holocene Relative Sea Level Change, Coventry University, 2004
- BSc Geography, Coventry University, 1997
Research interests include paleoenvironmental reconstruction using diatoms and sediments, with recent work on UK tsunami threats and Holocene climate periodicity. His articles explore coastal dynamics, historical environmental changes, and interdisciplinary approaches combining archaeology and geology.
Notable contributions span Holocene sea level studies, battlefield terrain analysis, and agricultural impacts on ecosystems. He served as an External Examiner at Plymouth University (2016–2020).
