Jason Hughes is a Professor of Sociology at the School of Media, Communication and Sociology, University of Leicester, where he has been employed since 2013. Previously, he held academic and leadership roles at Brunel University, including Senior Lecturer and Deputy Head of School. His research spans figurational sociology, qualitative methods, and intersections of work, identity, and substance use.
Research Interests:Hughes's work bridges theoretical innovation and empirical rigor, focusing on figurational sociology, qualitative methodologies, and the sociology of addiction/work identity. His recent publications emphasize methodological critiques and relational approaches to occupational sociology.
