Jason Evans

Jason Evans is an Associate Professor of Chemistry and Department Chair at the University of Massachusetts Boston. His research focuses on advanced biological mass spectrometry methodologies and their applications in proteomics, lipidomics, and cancer research.

• B.S. in Chemistry, University of Pittsburgh (1992)

Evans leads the Evans Group, a biological mass spectrometry laboratory that develops cutting-edge techniques for analyzing complex biological systems. The group specializes in:

• 2D-HPLC-MS3 for differential protein expression analysis
• LC-MS platforms for oil/fat speciation
• Peptide inhibitor development for cancer research

The group also operates a core proteomics facility supporting protein identification, post-translational modification analysis, and molecular weight confirmation through collaborations with other UMass Boston labs.
