Jason Davidson

Jason Davidson is a Professor of Political Science and International Affairs at the University of Mary Washington (UMW), with expertise in American, British, French, and Italian foreign and security policy, as well as international security. He holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Government from Georgetown University and a B.A. in Political Science from UC Berkeley.

His research focuses on alliance politics, transatlantic relations, peaceful power transitions, and the role of economic incentives in international diplomacy. He has authored two books on US alliances and contributed to journals like Contemporary Security Policy and Security Studies.

Awarded UMW’s Alumni Association Outstanding Young Faculty Award (2007) and a Jepson Fellowship (2005-06), Davidson’s recent publications analyze the G20’s role in Italy, NATO’s future post-Ukraine war, and transatlantic burden-sharing. He has lectured at the US Department of State, Marine Corps War College, and institutions in Italy and Germany.
