Jason Canniff is a Program Coordinator and Lecturer in Peace & Reconciliation Studies at the University of Maine, Orono. He holds an M.A. and B.A. in English from UMaine. Prior to academia, he worked in hotel and restaurant management before transitioning to education. His roles include adjunct professor in English, assistant professor in the Honors College, and current lecturer in Peace Studies, where he teaches courses like Mediation and Forgiveness. He merges entrepreneurial and academic approaches in his courses to help students explore niche research areas.

Research & Engagement: Canniff focuses on modern peace studies, encouraging students to engage with emerging debates. He is currently writing I Used to be a Planet, critiquing alt-right politics and entrepreneur cults.
International Experience: He has taught applied English in Indonesia, advised startups in Southeast Asia, led entrepreneurial workshops in Bali, and co-led personal development retreats in Costa Rica. Certifications include TESOL, Exponential Entrepreneurship, and iLAB Accelerator programs.
