Jasmine L. Blanks Jones

Jasmine L. Blanks Jones is a Lecturer in the Program in Racism, Immigration and Citizenship at Johns Hopkins University (JHU) and serves as Executive Director of the Center for Social Concern. With a dual PhD in Education and Africana Studies from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Minnesota, her work bridges arts, advocacy, and global equity.

• Education: Dual PhD in Education and Africana Studies (University of Pennsylvania), Master of Public Policy (University of Minnesota), and Bachelor of Science in Music Education (Florida A&M University).

Her research focuses on theatrical performance as a civic engagement praxis, addressing global race-based inequities in education and health through knowledge co-creation with communities. She founded Burning Barriers Building Bridges Youth Theatre (B4YT) and its consulting arm, Creating Brave Stages, which empower marginalized communities via the arts and support advocacy organizations in integrating creative practices into social movements.
