Jasmine Jones is a Stipendiary Lecturer in English (650–1550) at St Peter’s College, Oxford, and a College Lecturer in English at Pembroke College, Oxford. She is completing her DPhil at St Edmund Hall, where she held the Clarendon Scholarship and Bruce Mitchell Scholarship. Her research focuses on Old English religious verse (700–850 AD), exploring the theology of monastic poets and the influence of diverse spiritual traditions on the early English Church. She emphasizes how vernacular poetry served as a dynamic medium for theological expression.
Teaching includes courses on Old and Middle English literature at St Peter’s College, covering language approaches, literature from 650–1550, and the transition to early modern periods. Jones has published widely on topics like medieval Mariology, environmental theology in early texts, and analogies in Anglo-Saxon soliloquies. Her work appears in journals such as RES and SELIM, and she contributes to public outreach through radio appearances and blogs on medieval devotional practices.
