Jasbir K. Puar

Jasbir K. Puar is a Professor at the University of British Columbia, affiliated with the Institute for Gender, Race, Sexuality and Social Justice within the Faculty of Arts. Her research critically examines intersections of sexuality, disability, postcolonialism, and biopolitics. Puar is renowned for her groundbreaking works The Right to Maim and Terrorist Assemblages, which have been translated into multiple languages. She has also contributed to exhibitions at the Sharjah Architecture Triennial and Sharjah Art Biennial. Puar received the 2019 Kessler Award for lifetime achievement in queer research.
