Jarrod Blinch, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology & Sport Management at Texas Tech University's College of Arts & Sciences. He specializes in human motor behavior from cognitive psychology and neuroscience perspectives.
- Education: Ph.D. in Perceptual-Motor Dynamics (University of British Columbia, 2015); Postdoctoral Fellowship (University of Lethbridge, 2016)
- Current Courses: KIN 3303 (Motor Learning), KIN 4000 (Independent Study), KIN 5302 (Motor Control), KIN 5316 (Research Methods II), KIN 7316 (Applied Statistics)
His research focuses on
- Speed-accuracy trade-offs
- Methodology of reaction time and trajectory analysis
- Bimanual coordination
- Spatial abilities
Scientific Awards:
- 2024 Excellence in Research Award, Texas Tech University
- 2015 Franklin Henry Young Scientist Award, SCAPPS
Blinch leads the Perception, Cognition, and Action Lab, which explores how the neuromuscular system achieves coordinated movements through perception, dynamical systems, and biomechanics. His recent work analyzes reaction time distributions, post-error adjustments, and aging effects on motor control.
